The moon was pink as hell yesterday
I mean goddamn. It was highlighter pink. Almost unnaturally so. But still, it was also quite beautiful in a weird way. It was a full moon, too. At least it appeared so. I looked it up and it was apparently in its waxing gibbous phase. So almost full. And it was really big, too. I feel like it's been a while since I've seen the moon so close.
I was looking at it and felt it looked like a completely different celestial object. There were thin clouds in front (from my perspective), giving the impression of horizontal strips and whorls similar to Jupiter. For a moment, I imagined what it'd be like if Earth had a little sibling of a planet. How cool would that be?
Instead of rocketing towards the moon, we'd be setting up shop one Earth Numero Dos. Oh, man. Can you imagine? Coming and going by taking a week-long rocket flight for a vacation or to visit family. Or going to war with them.
Anyway, I wish I took a picture, but I didn't have my phone on me. And it's just my luck. I'm not one to take photos, but the one time I'd like to I don't have my phone. One day I'm going to see a UFO and not have my phone.
Funnily enough, that did happen. Earlier this year I saw a metallic sphere floating about. Just zipping along, stopping in place, then zipping along again while it glinted in the sunlight. It was really cool to see because it was a clear day. A really beautiful blue sky without clouds. And here's this metallic sphere or orb or whatever it was just cruising along. I eventually lost sight of it. And it's funny to think about because I didn't think much of it at the time. I just went "huh" and went on with my day.
I don't know. Could've just been a balloon if I put on my skeptic's glasses. A mylar balloon. Of the Mylarian species. Wind is different based on height, too. Wind on the ground can be nonexistent but powerful in the air. That would explain the stopping and going. Who knows.
I don't know why the moon was so pink. Maybe it was an optical illusion of sorts. It was sunset, after all. Anyway, I thought the moon looked really cool yesterday.
