Watching Re-runs of MythBusters
So this is a blast from the past.
I recently discovered that full episodes of MythBusters are available on YouTube for free. And it sent me down memory lane.
I used to love watching the show as a kid. I was really into science (especially astronomy) and the show really scratched that "let's figure stuff out" itch. I could spend an entire day just watching it and laughing at Adam and Jamie's dynamic and the trio of Grant (RIP), Kari, and Tori.
What I thought was really funny was how scripted the discussion segments are. I'm not sure how I never noticed it as a kid, but it's so obvious. It's not a bad thing, either. Just thought it was funny. A cast member would ask one question and another would give a perfect answer immediately. I imagine it was for educational purposes. To guide the viewer into the process of experimentation. Here's how we did A, now we're doing B, and C is the reason and so on.
Anyway, I've had the show running in the background for the past few days. It's nice to be transported to when I was a kid every now and again. Makes me feel at ease.
