The Disorientation

Worldbuilding is Fun, but...

Worldbuilding is fun, but... it's also very hard. And frustrating. And exhausting.

But, I still love it. I find it incredibly creatively fulfilling. There's just something about creating new, interesting, and (hopefully) unique worlds, mythos, and characters.

It's a lot of fun to create different races and their culture, history, and language. It also kind of makes you learn about real-life history, at least in my experience. Makes me feel smarter.

It's even better if one can draw. Then a whole other world of expressing oneself opens up. There's maps, character portraits, plant and animal sketches, and so on to portray a world and its inhabitants.

I... am not one of those people. I can't draw to save my life, hah.

Still, it's a fun--albeit often frustrating--process full of imagination. It stretches my creative muscles quite a bit.

Right now I'm worldbuilding for a fiction project for school. It's been a lot of fun, though I am going up against a deadline/schedule.

I can't say too much, but it involves pretty much every interest of mine, from science-fiction and fantasy to apocalyptia/post-apocalyptia and solarpunk. It's going to be a real test of my creative muscles, but I think it'll be worth it in the end.

Anyhow, worldbuilding is fun, but... it's also very hard.
